April 29th - 7 weeks and rolling over!!!

So Cruz is 7 weeks today and he rolled over today for the first time! I was over at my friend Andrea's house and I put him on his tummy and he rolled right over to his back. He did it a couple different times and then again once Jake got home from work. We got a couple videos so I'm posting them, I can't believe he's rolling over already!!!

April 27th

Cruz had his first cold this last week. He had a nasty cough and was all congested but as of today he's doing much better! He was doing so good with sleeping in his crib at night and then he got sick and spent a couple nights sleeping in Jake or my arms (since he'd scream if we'd lay him down) so now we're working on getting him back to sleeping in the crib. Tomorrow we are increasing his formula from 4oz to 5oz every 4 hours so hopefully this will help him sleep longer at night. He sleeps about 4 or 5 hours at a time right now so maybe we can actually get 8 straight hours of sleep soon! He's been starting to smile a lot and I kinda caught it on video except he turned away right when he smiled, I'm still posting it on here anyways. There's also a couple pictures of Cruz doing some "tummy time" on his play mat. The weather has been pretty nice here so we've been able to sit out on the porch alot with Cruz and go on lots of walks too, he really likes it outside. Everything else here is good with us, my mom will be here in about 2 weeks and we will be back to Nebraska in about 6 weeks to see everyone, we can't wait!!! Hope everyone has a great week!

April 22 - 6 weeks old

Cruz is 6 weeks old today! He's still growing like a weed and becoming so much more alert. He smiled for the first time last week which was very exciting. I've been trying to catch it on tape but I haven't been able to yet. He's becoming quite the cheese ball though with his smiles, his whole mouth is open when he smiles:) He's also losing all the hair on the top of his head. He still has quite a bit around the sides and in the back but I'm sure he'll end up loosing that too. The hair he still has is still pretty dark brown but it will be interesting to see if it grows back red or not. I already think it has a tint of red to it anyways. Tucker still does really well with Cruz and he actually walks pretty good with the stroller too so I'm happy about that. Here's a few recent pictures of the little man and a video from this morning. And like I said before, hopefully I can catch him smiling on the next video!

April 14th

Well we got Cruz's one month pictures taken yesterday at Portrait Innovations. They did a really good job with him considering he's not smiling yet, hopefully by the next time we get pictures done we'll be able to get him to smile! Also we went to the doctor today and Cruz is 9 lbs 11 ozs and is 23" long! He's growing way too fast!!!

April 12th

Well Katie, Jay and Makenna were here from Tuesday through Saturday this last week. Cruz was happy to finally meet his aunt, uncle and cousin! Makenna did really good with Cruz, I love the pictures of them two together below! We took Cruz on his first trip to the aquarium while they were here so there are some pictures below from that. Also there's a picture below of Cruz's first bath, yes he cried through the whole thing but each night he gets a little better and I think he actually is starting to enjoy his bath now. I can't believe he was a month old yesterday already, time sure has flown by and he's changing so much. We put him in his bumbo seat today, which you can see in a picture below too, and I can't believe how good he can sit up in it! He looks like such a big boy sitting up like that! Well we are getting his one month pictures taken at portrait innovations tomorrow so I'll get those up when I get some time! Till next time...

April 2nd

Well Grandpa and Grandma Aufenkamp came to visit us this last week. Cruz was so good while they were out here and we really enjoyed their visit and all their help. Cruz is now 3 weeks old and still changing every day. He's really starting turn his head towards us when he hears our voice and it seems like he's starting to focus on things a little better as well. I think Tucker has finally gotten use to Cruz and he's not so curious anymore, you can see in the pictures that he's pretty calm around him for the most part. I think Tucker is a little tired of the crying though because now he always leaves the room when Cruz starts crying ha! Sorry it's been so long since I've wrote, we've been so busy! Next week my sister, brother-in-law and niece come (I can't wait for Cruz to meet his cousin Makenna!) so I'll have more pictures then.
