Well Cruz had a big belly laugh today but of course I didn't catch it on tape. Here's a few smaller giggles.

July 24th
Hello everyone! Here are a few pictures and a video from the past couple of days. He's eating carrots in the pictures, today he's gonna try green beans. He's been eating really well for us, so far we haven't found anything he doesn't like. The last picture I took on Sunday when I was cleaning out his closet trying to pack up all the clothes that are too small for him. I found this hat that Jake and I loved but it was always too big for him. It's a little bit too small for him now but we still had to take a picture of it:)
So anyways, he's still is rolling over all the time. He won't stay on his back for more then a minute but once he gets over to his stomach he gets so mad because he can't figure out how to roll back over. He's been rolling from his stomach to his back since he was 7 weeks old and now that he can roll from his back to his stomach it's like he just forgot how to roll the other way. I'm sure he'll get it soon, I hope anyways!
He's never really be a pacifier baby but he used to at least take it when we rocked him to sleep, well that all changed this week. He no longer takes the pacifier at any time and he'll no longer let us rock him to sleep. When he gets tired he wants to be laid in his crib so he can curl up on his side and suck his thumb. I'm happy that I won't have to worry about taking a passy away from him eventually but now I have to figure out how I'm gonna get him to stop sucking his thumb at some point.
Jake leaves on Monday for training in California and won't be home till August 15th. My mom is gonna come out for 5 or 6 days while he's gone so that will be nice to have here out here and to help break up the time of him being gone. That's about all that's new with us, until next time...

July 21st
Here's a video from this morning, I don't think it will be long and he'll be crawling. I didn't think Jake would get to see him crawl before he left for Iraq but maybe he will!

July 18th - Rolling Over
So when Jake got up for work this morning he came in and asked me "did you put Cruz on his stomach last night?" Of course I didn't so I went in and looked at him and sure enough he had rolled from his back to his stomach in the middle of the night. He's been rolling from his stomach to his back for quite some time now but this was the first time he rolled from his back to his stomach! Maybe I can get him to do it today when he's awake so I can see it:) Other then that not too much new here just wanted to post a few pictures I took the other day, I think he changes every day!

July 14th - Squash Time
Well we started Cruz on veggies this weekend. You have to feed him the same veggie for 3 or 4 days in a row to make sure he doesn't have any allergic reactions before you start another one so right now we are feeding him squash. Here are a few pictures from the first time we gave it to him. At first he made some pretty funny faces, but now 3 days later, he's eating it really well. He has to eat it yet tomorrow and then I think we'll try carrots!

July 11th - Happy Birthday Cruz!
Well Cruz is 4 months today. Jake and I were talking last night and we can't believe how fast these last 4 months have went. It feels like yesterday we were sitting in the hospital room waiting for Cruz to arrive and now here we are 4 months later! Plus it feels like Jake just got home from Iraq and now he leaves again in 2 very short months. At least we know we'll be moving back to Nebraska for good a year from right now so that's something to look forward too!
Anyways, we had his 4 month check up this morning and everything went really well. He's 25 1/4 inches long and 14 lbs 7 oz. The doctor said he's in the 50th percentile for both height and weight. And of course he had to get his shots, which always breaks my heart, but he did his usual scream for a few seconds and then he was fine. Below are two cute pictures I got last night. We try to read to Cruz every night and I caught this picture of Jake and Cruz on the floor from the doorway before Jake knew I was standing there. Cruz looks so interested in the book huh:) And then we are starting to do the triangle sitting (where he is bent over with his arms outside of his legs on the ground) with Cruz so he can build his muscles to be able to sit on his own. As you can see from the picture he doesn't like it much but the more we do it the more he's able to balance himself so we'll keep working on it! Hope everyone has a great weekend...

July 10th
Here are a couple videos of Cruz. The first one is of his new whining thing he does. He's not crying but he just talks and whines at the same time and he'll do this for 10 or 15 minutes sometimes if you just keep talking to him and keep him going. Jake and I get a kick out of it. And then the second video is of him at his favorite time of the night, when he gets to lay naked before we get his pjs on. I think he could lay naked all day and be happy as can be:) And third video is him in his new jumparoo.

July 6th - Happy 4th of July and the Jumparoo
Happy belated 4th of July to everyone! We had a pretty laid back weekend for the most part but we did purchase a jumparoo for Cruz so we've had fun watching him enjoy that this weekend. He can't quite figure out how to jump in it yet (I'm sure it won't be long) but he loves sitting in it and playing with all the stuff around it. Anyways here are some pictures from this weekend...

July 3rd - Nebraska 2
Here are a few pictures from our trip back to Nebraska. If you want to see all of them you can go to www.aufenkampm.winkflash.com. When you get to the website there is a box on the left hand side that says "View Public Shares" and just type "aufenkampm" in that box and you can see all the photos. I have a lot of photos so they should all be up on the winkflash site by tonight.

July 2nd - Nebraska
Well we spent the last two weeks visiting everyone back in Nebraska. We had a lot going on between two weddings, Cruzer's baptism and just trying to see everyone but we had a good time. Cruz changed so much just while we were there. He's finally figured out his hands so he will grab anything you put in front of him and of course everything goes right into his mouth. He's still eating cereal and we started him on oatmeal too. I was afraid his schedule might get a little screwed up while we were in Nebraska but for the most part he did pretty good with staying right on schedule. He even continued to sleep through the night while we were there, thank goodness! My sister and I wanted to get pictures of Makenna and Cruz together while we were back but it was a little tougher then we thought it would be. I'm posting some pictures below. We did get a couple good ones but if one kid wasn't screaming then the other one was so it was impossible to get any pictures of both of them smiling. I did get a few of Cruz by himself smiling so that's good I guess. I'll be posting more pictures later of our trip home, I just have so many pictures that I have to go through them all first and decide which ones to put up:)
