Colorado Trip

We had a great trip to Colorado. Thank you Scott's for inviting us to come hike with you! We made it to the top of Pikes Peak in 6 1/2 hours and it was quite the workout but we survived:) Not sure we'll ever hike a mountain again but I'm glad to be able to say we did it! We left Thursday and stayed Thursday night at Steve & Leah's house in Colorado Springs (Steve and Jake went to high school together). Then on Friday we did some sight seeing and of course rode the train at Criple Creek for Cruz. Friday and Saturday night we stayed in a cabin at the base of Pikes Peak with the Scott family, it was a beautiful cabin. We hiked on Saturday so Pam took Cruz to Santa's Workshop that day, which he of course had to ride the train over and over again. (I don't think he'll ever grow out of this train stage!) Little Levin got to stay in Nebraska with Grandpa and Grandma Walkenhorst since he doesn't ride well in the car but it sounds like he got spoiled rotten while we were gone so I'm sure he didn't mind! Hard to believe in less then a week he'll be a year old already! Anyways here are some pictures from the trip...click on the slideshow to make them larger.

July

Today my baby is 11 months old! In another month we'll be celebrating Levin's first birthday, time just goes so fast! Our summer has been so busy so that's definitely not helping time slow down any! Here's quite a few pictures from this month, some from the 4th and then most of them from this past week when my uncle and cousins were here from Arizona for my cousin Marcus' wedding. Jeni, Mike, Zach & Zoe stayed with us at our house and Cruz and Zach had so much fun together. I wish we lived closer to them because Cruz already misses Zach! Anyways Katie & Marcus had a beautiful wedding on Friday night, congrats to them! Cruz & Zach got to be ring bearers in their wedding so that was fun and they were so cute! We actually had the whole Keller family together at the wedding so we got a big group shot of everyone, not sure that has happened in quite awhile! Anyways next on our schedule is a trip to Colorado the first weekend in August to hike Pikes Peak, it will be the first time I've been away from my boys for more then one night so it's gonna be tough but I think Jake and I will have a great time! Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Summer so far...

I get worse and worse and keeping up on this blog! So here are some photos from the past few months. In June Jake graduated with his bachelors degree from Bellevue University so we had a little party for him in our back yard. Then a couple weeks ago when the tornado (or straight line winds, depending on who you ask) hit Fremont we had almost half of our huge silver maple tree fall in our backyard so there's some pictures from that. There's also a few from Old Settlers and then some from today when we went out to visit Jim and Sandy on their lake. The kids had a blast and can't wait to come out again, thanks again Jim & Sandy for letting us come out to visit!!!

Army Crawling

Levin started Army crawling on Tuesday night. It was pretty funny so I took a video of it. Now, two days later, and he's already getting around a lot better then this! Cruz is not very good at sharing so now that Levin can get to his choo choos we're gonna have to work very hard on sharing. This should be a fun stage ha!

Cruz at 3 years old

Cruz turned 3 on March 11th, gosh time has flown since he was born! At his 3 year check up he was 40 inches tall, in the 93rd percentile for height, and he was 34.25 lbs and in the 90th percentile for weight. He's definitely a big boy all around :) He still loves his trains and definitely loves playing outside whenever he gets a chance! Lincoln Half Marathon

I usually don't post anything on here about Jake & I but after training for 4 months and finishing the Lincoln Half Marathon on Sunday I thought we deserved to have some pictures up here:) We've been training since January 1st and finally on Sunday (May 1st) we got to run our 13.1 mile race! Jake finished his in 2 hours and 1 minute and I finished mine is 2 hours and 20 minutes. There were 10,000 people running the race this year and it was an amazing experience. We both said we'll do it again next year, hopefully we can recruit some more people to run it with us next year! Any takers???

Easter 2011

Wow I didn't realize it has been 2 months since my last post! I'm putting up Easter pictures today but I just realized I completely skipped over Cruz's 3rd birthday! I'll have to get pictures up of that later. Anyways, we had a great day today celebrating Easter with both of our families. Cruz really enjoyed all the easter egg hunts (we've been practicing at home all week!)
