If You're Happy And You Know It

So for the last two weeks I've been taking Cruz to story time on Fridays at the New Bern library, it's just a half hour and a lady reads them a book, they have a puppet show and they sing songs. Well one of the songs they sing is "If your happy and you know it" so we've been working on it at home too. I caught it on video tonight (don't mind the horrible singing!)

Happy Birthday Cruz!!!

I can't believe Cruz is one today! It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were sitting in the hospital room with a new baby boy in our laps. Well Jake was home all day today since he's working nights so we decided to take Cruz to the park and then for some ice cream. He enjoys the park more and more each time we go.

So exciting news...Cruz took his first steps today!!! All day he was really starting to let go of things and stand by himself. So he was looking out our screen door at Tucker so I moved him back from the door and he took 3 little steps to get to the door! I think Jake & I scared him from being so excited ha! Then we moved him to the middle of the room and had him walk to his train, I caught this on video that I posted below. It's kind of hard to see but I missed him walking to the door on video so this is the best we have for now:)

Beautiful Weekend

We had a beautiful weekend here in North Carolina. It was in the 80s or close to it and it's supposed to be that nice for the next couple of days too. We did some shopping on Saturday and then just hung out at home today. We were able to take a nice long walk today and Cruz & I also sat outside while Daddy washed the Jeep. I'm praying this weather is here to stay!

Well Jake had to work tonight so Sue & Ryan invited us over to play in the Bounce House with their son Liam and Andrea & Eve were also there with us. I didn't know what Cruz would think of it but he actually really liked it. Both Liam and Eve are about 4 or 5 months older then Cruz so they're already walking, once Cruz starts walking I think he'd like the bounce house even more. I took a quick video of the three of them playing in it below.

Gosh I can't believe how big he's getting! My girlfriend Nikki had her baby, Dakota, on Feb 23rd and now my other girlfriend Karee had her baby, Kinslee, on Friday night so Cruz just looks like such a big boy when you see those tiny babies! Plus having him in his little short outfits this weekend makes him seem so much older too! Well here's a few pictures from this week, the first one was when he was sick with his high temp and all he wanted to do was sleep in our laps (Jake & I definitely enjoyed this because it very rarely happens anymore). And then the second picture was just a picture of him in his car seat now that we turned it forward facing. More next time...

1st Birthday Parties

We had a really nice visit back in Nebraska this last week. While we were home we celebrated Cruz's 1st birthday. Hard to believe a week from today he's gonna be a year already! Both parties went really well and he definitely enjoyed his cake. He's still not walking yet but he's getting closer. He learned how to wave buh-bye while we were home so that was fun. And of course every time we go home it seems like the poor kid gets sick so he had a fever while we were traveling all day yesterday and it ended up spiking at 104.2 last night. We got it down but it's still at 102 today and all he wants to do is sleep, poor guy. At least he was feeling good while we were home and for his parties! We're not sure when our next visit will be, maybe June sometime. Otherwise we may wait till we move back to Nebraska for good in August or September, we'll keep everyone posted:) Well here's some pictures from the parties...

Zoo Trip

The first day Cruz & I were back in Nebraska we took a trip to the zoo with Katie & Makenna. Cruz really enjoyed it, especially the monkeys! Here's a few pictures...
