Surgery Day

Surgery went really good this morning. We had to be there at 6:30 and they finally took him back for surgery around 8:00 and by 8:15 the doctor was out telling us he did really good. I guess he didn't cry or fuss when they put him under and then we weren't back there yet when he came out of it but I guess he kept wanting to go from nurse to nurse until he found one that he liked and then he sat with her till we got in there. By the time we got back there we couldn't' even tell he had been out, he was up talking and of course wanting to eat and drink. They put some drops and ointment on the eye after surgery but we can already tell it's 100% better. No more green gunk coming out of it, yay! Here's one picture from before the surgery and a few from after...

He hated when they had to mess with his feet!

You can put my sock on over the thing around my toe but there's still a cord hanging out so I know something's not right here:)

15 month check up

Just a quick update, I took Cruz in for his 15 month check up today. He was 32 1/2 inches long putting him right above the 75th percentile for height and he was 26.4 lbs so right under the 75th percentile for weight. He's getting so big!!!

Well my Mom & Dad left this morning, we had a good time with them down here and we can't thank them enough for staying at our house with Cruz while we were at the wedding all weekend. They didn't have the most exciting visit probably but we did make it down to the ocean one day. And for Father's Day we ate seafood at our favorite place down at the beach, I'm definitely gonna miss the seafood here! Other then that we spent most of our time hanging out at home, and usually inside because it's been so warm out here.

Cruz has surgery for his eye on Thursday and then next weekend we're gonna be in DC visiting the Scott's for the 4th of July and then Cruz & I move back to Nebraska on August 4th so from now on I think my free time will be spent packing! Yay! Except I never realized how much stuff comes along with a baby, I think we might need a separate moving truck just for Cruz's stuff ha!

Well here's some pictures from my parent's visits. Hope everyone has a good week!

Marine Corps Wedding

Thought I would share a few photos from the wedding Jake was in this weekend. Him and I headed to Raleigh Friday afternoon and spent the weekend there while my parents stayed at our house with Cruz. We had a great time even though we both missed Cruz like crazy! Anyways I've never been to a Marine Corps wedding so it was neat to see all the Marines dressed up in their Blues. Unfortunately it was over 100 degrees the day of the wedding and they can't take off any part of their uniforms till they get home but at least they moved the wedding inside at the last minute so they only had to bare the heat outside at the reception that evening.

My mom and dad leave tomorrow morning so I'll post some pictures of their visit later this week!

Quick Update

So it's been brought to my attention that the last thing I put on the blog about Cruz's eye surgery was that he has surgery tomorrow. They actually had to reschedule on us so he doesn't have it till June 25th now.

My parents will be here next Thursday thru Tuesday, we have a wedding in Raleigh next weekend so they are gonna stay at our house with Cruz Friday night thru Sunday, Jake & I are looking forward to our first little get away together since Cruz was born!

I booked our last plane ticket to Nebraska this week (finally!!!), Cruz & I will be back in Nebraska for good on August 4th. Jake will be home the 6th through the 10th for a visit and then he'll be back for good on September 15th. I have to go back early since I'll be coaching Junior High Volleyball in Cedar this year.

Here's a few pictures I took with my phone over the last two weeks...
