Just a few pictures...

Things in the Aufenkamp household are pretty good. We've adjusted to having a baby around and things are finally starting to settle down. Levin went through a phase where he cried from about 8pm till 10 or 11pm every night. It only lasted a couple weeks and I think we're finally over that, thank goodness! He's still more cranky at night then he is during the day but not too bad. Cruz has gotten used to having Levin around and now whenever he doesn't know where Levin his he'll ask "where's levin?" He still likes to help out too, his favorites are getting a diaper out for me when I change him, putting his bottle in the sink when I'm done feeding him and probably his most favorite is burping him, sometimes he burps a little too hard and sometimes Levin's head gets burped but I guess it's just Cruz's way of toughening Levin up:)

Stretch!

All cozy in his carseat

Getting so long!

Pretty cute when he cries till the crying lasts 2 or 3 hours :)

Levin had his two week check up today, he's 8lbs 14oz. He's in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for his height. Wanted to post a few pictures from the past few days. Levin got his first bath the other night, at first he screamed but then realized he liked the warm water and actually really enjoyed his bath. Cruz is adjusting to being a big brother and still loves to help with everything, he definitely gets jealous at times but for the most part he's really good. Hope everyone has a nice long Holiday weekend!!!

Already a week old!

Here's a few more pictures of Levin. I can't believe he was already a week old yesterday! Yesterday was also a big day because Levin finally got to meet his Grandpa Walkenhorst. My dad found out he had shingles the morning I had Levin so he couldn't be around him for a week. He saw pictures and even came over on Saturday and peeked through our front window at him but wouldn't get any closer. Anyways Levin spent most of last night getting spoiled by Grandpa:)

Levin so far has been a really easy baby, doesn't cry much and sleeps really well at night already. Hopefully that will continue! Cruz is adjusting to being a big brother just fine. I thought for sure he's regress in the potty training but so far he's still doing awesome! He loves to help feed him and always wants to hold him or give him a kiss. His favorite part is helping me change his diaper, mainly because he loves working the diaper gene we have ha!

Levin Lynn is here!

Levin Lynn is finally here! He arrived Wednesday, August 18th at 3:16pm. He was 8lbs 8oz and 21 1/2 inches long. I was originally supposed to be induced on Thursday but since I was only 38 weeks along Dr. Gernhart wanted to make sure Levin's lungs were completely developed before she induced so I had an amniocentesis Wednesday morning. Well the amniocentesis caused me to go into labor, which we knew was a risk. My mom went with me to the amnio so Jake flew to the hospital from work, he made it there in plenty of time but I think he was a little nervous that he was gonna miss it when I called and said they admitted me and I was in labor:) Anyways he arrived perfect as could be and we got released from the hospital Friday morning. It's been so nice to have all weekend at home to re-cooperate and try to get into some what of a routine with Cruz and Levin. We've enjoyed being able to have so many visitors this time around since when we had Cruz we were living in North Carolina. Anyways here are a few of my favorite pictures from the past few days along with a slideshow with many more!

36 weeks

Well I'm 36 weeks today, I had a doctors appointment this afternoon and I'm dilated to 2 centimeters now (I've been at 1 centimeter for the past 3 weeks). My stomach is measuring 40 weeks, which it's been measuring 3 to 5 weeks ahead for quite awhile now, so we talked about inducing today. She doesn't want Levin to get too big that I can't deliver him. So on August 18th I'm scheduled for an ultrasound to get his estimated weight and also for an amniocentesis so they can test the amniotic fluid and make sure his lungs are fully developed. If his lungs are good to go then she'll induce me the morning of August 19th. I've still been having a lot of contractions in the evenings and nights so I'm excited to have the end in site! So I guess we'll be having a baby more then likely sometime on or before the 19th whether he decides to come naturally or have to be forced out:) I'll try to update my blog and facebook as soon as he arrives!!!

Cruz has been doing so good with his potty training... I caught this picture the other day of him in his big boy underwear and I just have to share it :)

A visit from the Scotts

Our good friends we met in North Carolina, Adam, Andrea & their little girl Eve came to visit us this weekend! Adam actually has family here in Omaha so it was perfect. Eve is 4 months older then Cruz so they had so much fun together! We met them at the Children's Museum on Friday morning and let the kids run off some energy there. Then Saturday morning we picked them up and headed to the zoo, after the zoo we got the kids home for a nap and then spent the afternoon hanging out in the back yard, letting the kids swim and grilling out. We had to take them back to Omaha this morning but we definitely weren't ready! They live in DC right now but hopefully someday after the Marine Corps they'll be closer! Thanks for coming to stay with us Scotts you are more then welcome to come back any time! And we look forward to our next get together!!! Here's some pictures from their visit...
