Happy belated 4th of July to everyone! We spent our 4th of July weekend with Adam, Andrea & Eve up in Quantico, VA and had a great time! Adam & Andrea moved to Quantico in May so it was so great seeing them again and also getting so see how much Eve has changed! She's 4 months older then Cruz so it was fun to have someone for Cruz to play with all weekend. Thanks again Adam & Andrea for letting us stay at your house!
Jake, Cruz & I headed to DC on Friday morning and spent most of the day walking around the National Mall. We saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials, the Air & Space Museum, The Capitol, The White House and I'm sure a few other things I'm forgetting. Cruz was such a trooper all day and never fussed once.
On Saturday we relaxed at the house, had some lunch at a place called Five Guys, wow if you ever are in the mood for a good burger and fries that is definitely the place to go! After lunch we put the kids down for a nap and Andrea and I headed to IKEA, I'd never been there before and that place is so awesome! If we owned a house already I would have been bringing a Uhaul full of stuff back with me from there. I need to talk to the head guy at IKEA and convince him to open one in Omaha now:) Anyways I did get get a table and chair set for Cruz there. He loved Eve's so much that I had to get him his own:) O and after we got home from IKEA we took the kids to the pool, this was the first time Cruz had ever been to a big pool and he loved it. I need to start taking him to the pool here now instead of just having him go in his little pool in the back yard:)
Anyways that was our weekend in a nut shell. It was sad to leave today because we're not sure when we'll get to see the Scott's again but hopefully since Adam has family in Omaha they can make it our way one of these days! Here's an album of some pictures from our trip, click on the album to see the photos larger...
